About Dungenez
Dungenez didn't start as a product. It started because I was done fighting with spreadsheets.
How it started
I ran my own e-commerce store. My data lived in Shopify, in Google and in Meta, and each platform told its own version of the story. My agency sent me reports, and I read them, but I never fully believed them. Not because anyone was lying to me, but because I had no way to check. And when it's your own business, "roughly right" isn't good enough.
So I did what any owner who wants certainty does. I downloaded everything, pasted it into a spreadsheet, cross-checked the sources and built the model. It took hours. And there was a bigger problem: the important questions almost never show up while you're at your desk. They show up on the street, between meetings, with your phone in your hand. And right then, I had no way to answer them.
So I built myself a tool. It connected all three sources, went through the numbers and answered me the way an experienced e-commerce manager would: straight to the point, with context, and telling me what to do next. I ended up using it every day, and at some point I started forwarding its conclusions to my agency. That's when I realized I hadn't built it just for me.
Why "Dungenez"?
At the southern tip of Chile, where the Atlantic pushes into the Strait of Magellan, lies Punta Dungeness. It is the gateway to one of the most demanding passages in the world: strong currents, winds that shift without warning, sandbanks and coastlines that don't forgive a moment of distraction. For centuries, ships leaving the ports of Europe and the Atlantic have passed through it on their way to the Pacific.
Making it through was never just about having a good ship. It was about reading what the sea was telling you, in time. And at the entrance to that passage stands a lighthouse.
A lighthouse doesn't steer the ship. It doesn't pick the route or take the helm. It does something simpler and more important: it shows the captain where they are, which way to go and where the danger lies before it's too late. At night, in fog or in a storm, it is the fixed point that lets you sail with confidence.
Running an e-commerce business is a lot like crossing that strait. There are currents you can't see: an acquisition cost creeping up, a checkout slowing down on mobile, a campaign that keeps spending after it stopped selling, a best-seller quietly running out of stock. None of it makes noise on day one. By the time it shows up in your sales, you're already on the rocks.
Dungenez is the lighthouse for that crossing. It brings together what Shopify, Meta and Google say separately, compares it with your own history and your industry, and alerts you when something drifts off course, before it becomes a problem. And when the water is calm, it shows you where the best wind is to move forward.
The ship is still yours, and so is the course. We just make sure you never sail in the dark.
Three sources, zero certainty. Now: direction.
Our mission
No e-commerce owner should waste time searching for the way through their data, so they can focus on getting where they're going.
